Extracurricular Activities

Most of these extracurricular activities are available from September to April:

  • After School Tutoring: Students in grades 2-5 in need of tutoring in Reading and Math on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Students are invited to attend based on their academic needs.
  • Student Council: Students in 3-5 grade have the opportunity to participate in the Student Council, which our Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Sue Ann Besaw (ext. 3062225), runs. The students come up with ideas and projects that benefit the student body.
  • National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS): Students in 4-5 grades with outstanding academic achievement are invited to take part of this society. These students should also demonstrate personal responsibility, and the desire to provide meaningful service to the school and community. The society helps the students develop essential leadership skills within school and the community. Membership is by invitation only. Contact person is Ms. Zaida Torres, ext. 3062233.
  • Mathlethes: This group prepares students in grades 4-5 to participate in Math competitions within our Learning Community. Their last competition is in April. Contact person is Dr. Denisse Jones ext. 3064280.
  • Guitar Club: The group meets on Tuesdays at 7:45 am. Contact person is Mr. Ceferino Valentin, ext. 3064256.
  • School Chorus: The group meets Thursdays and Fridays at 7:45 am. Contact person is Mr. Ceferino Valentin, ext. 3064256.
  • Art Club: There are two levels of art club--Advanced Art meets on Tuesdays at 7:45 am. Basic Art meets Fridays at 7:45 am. Contact person is Mrs. Brenda Alicea, ext. 3064270.
  • Coding Club: This group meets with students from 3-5 grade on Mondays and Wednesdays after school. Students will learn computer coding. Contact person is Ms. Jilian Manz, ext. 3064252.
